Our Guide to a Family Weekend in Dubbo NSW

Our Guide to a Family Weekend in Dubbo NSW

We had an amazing time in Dubbo which is regional NSW.  There seems to be an endless amount of activities to do and we were kept so busy from the moment we arrived.

Our first stop was to the Old Dubbo Gaol which is a Heritage Listed site and a site steeped in history.  There was interactive things to do and if you are lucky enough to visit during the school holidays there are re-enactments for all to enjoy.  You can read about our Gaol adventure here.

Our next part of the Dubbo adventure was sleeping in the Western Plain Zoo Dubbo.  We had the most wonderful experience and the family is still talking about what fun we had.  Feeding the giraffes was definitely a highlight.  Read about our experience here.

After a long day at the zoo we headed to the Country Apartments to rest our zoo bodies.  We had a wonderful nights sleep in the luxury Cottage and highly recommend the Country Apartments for their excellent hospitality.  Book your stay here.

We had the most wonderful action packed weekend at Dubbo and would highly recommend Dubbo to all families looking for a zoo experience mixed with lots of history.  If we had enough time we would have love to head to Wellington Caves to explore the underground caves and all their beauty.  Take a look at the caves here.
