Visiting Sea Life Sydney Aquarium and Wild Life Sydney Zoo

Sleepy koalas at Wild Life Sydney Zoo
Get in quick to get your MERLIN PASS. We visited both the Sydney Sea Life and Wild Life in one morning when in Sydney.
The Merlin Annual Pass is having a sale!! Running from 15th June – 13th July. During this time, an individual MAP will be $89pp or a family (3+ people) is $65pp.
Sea Life Sydney Aquarium
We have visited many aquariums around the world and the Sydney Sea Life was up there as one of the best we have visited. We headed down to Darling Harbour in Sydney, which is an easy walk from Town Hall Train Station. SeaLife felt like you were in the ocean with the sea life. The huge glass walls on the aquariums give you such a close view to all the animals. Walking through the overhead aquarium gives such a unique view of all the animals swimming about. We loved the tropical fish section and the dugongs. The kids loved watching the dugongs during feeding time. The only food on the menu is lettuce!! The dugongs really look like mermaids, they are slow and move so elegantly.

We had to wait in a short line to join the penguin expedition. Well worth the short wait to feel like we were in Antarctica. The boat goes around the freezing temperatures of Antarctica and around the penguin exhibit. It was great to see them playing and frolicking while we were in the boat. This is included in your entry ticket.

The kids also loved the touch rock pools and the staff were happy to answer all their inquisitive enquiries. I think on our next visit I may be brave enough to try diving with sharks. Have a look how you can book here.
Wild Life Sydney Zoo
After you have finished at Sea Life head next door to Wild Life Sydney Zoo. This small zoo is like a snapshot of all of the Australian animals that overseas visitors love to see. My kids were fascinated with all the facts that were around the zoo on each animals and how up close you can get with the animals. They loved the little sneaky path to get close to the crocodile and feel like you are swimming right underneath the big croc.
There were many hands on experiences and many zoo keepers walking around with animals that can be viewed up close and also all the kids questions were answered.
The WildLife Sydney has an easy path to follow around the attraction so that you don’t miss any of the amazing animals that they have. I think the butterflies were a firm family favourite.

Location and Tickets
We used our Merlin Passes to go to both attractions on the one day. Tickets can be purchased for the attractions and there are plaenty of options to combine the SeaLife and WildLife. We also visited the Sydney Eye Tower and Madame Tussauds which the kids absolutely loved the most. To get the most from your Merlin pass why not head north to the Sunshine Coast and visit SeaLife at Mooloolaba.
Sea Life and Wild Life as well as Madame Tussauds are all located in the one area at Darling Harbour. For more Sydney tips click here.
